On February 17, 2023, a round table was held at the Astana Medical University on the topic: “The Trinity of Education, Science and Practice”, organized by the School and the Department of Nursing.
The purpose of the round table was to discuss the training of nurses at the bachelor’s, master’s and PhD doctoral levels in the higher education system of Kazakhstan, the relevance and benefits of interaction with clinical bases for nursing practice, the involvement of nurses in research and, in general, the development of nursing science in Kazakhstan.
The round table was attended by representatives of the School of Medicine of Nazarbayev University, a freelance specialist in nursing from the Health Department for the city of Astana, chief nurses (hospital, PHC ), representatives of medical colleges, higher medical colleges, associations of nurses of the Republic, representatives of the School and Department of Nursing affairs of the University.
Vice-Rector for Research and Strategic Development Koikov V.V. delivered a welcoming speech and opened the round table.
The round table participants listened to reports covering the topics of higher and postgraduate education of nurses, participation in the international projects ProInCa, AccelEd “Improving nursing at the level of master’s and PhD doctoral studies in the higher education system”, conducting research in nursing, using nursekz electronic platform by nursekz.com etc.
The round table session was held in the format of a Q&A session. During the meeting, the participants raised the problems of nursing in the Republic, exchanged views and ideas. The outcome of the meeting was the adoption of a resolution and discussion of proposals for strengthening ties and cooperation between education, science and practice.
